How I met Irvine Welsh
I met Irvine Welsh at the booksigning after his reading at The Highland Inn in Atlanta, GA. I got my photo taken with him, and told him about some of my E experiences in the early 1980s…

I’ve seen Mason Jennings play live twice in 2006 – once at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, and once in Athens, Georgia.
His music totally moves me on a deep level, and I love his stage presence and his voice.
I would love to meet him and just be in each other’s energy and let him know how much I appreciate his work.
I am such a huge fan of Adrian Belew – I saw him playing with Laurie Anderson in the early 1980s in Houston, Texas, first-off.
I’ve seen him many times (as often as possible) since then, mostly during the 25 years I lived in Atlanta. Of course, I’m a big Bears fan, as well.
I met him at an in-store performance in Atlanta, many years ago, and he signed a small tour poster for me.
He is definitely one of my inspirational heros, and his music always moves me.
The last time I saw Brandi Carlile live was in Tucson, Arizona at the Music Hall there, with Ingrid Michaelson, the Indigo Girls, and KT Tunsdale.
I am such a huge fan of Brandi’s voice and her songwriting.
I also saw her at The Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, Georgia, opening for Shawn Colvin, and I purchased her new CD (The Story) and had her sign it.
I would love to meet her again and get to know her.
I adore Emily and her singing – and have had the amazing pleasure of seeing the Indigo Girls in concert many times, as well as seeing Emily and her dad, Don, perform together twice.
Thank you, Emily, for being the Authentic You, and making marvelous music!
I finally met Anne Lamott at a spirituality workshop in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve read many of her books, and saw her speak at Emory University (it was standing room only and packed out into the hall!)
So, the second time I heard her speak, at the Growing in the Spiritual Life workshop, I made a point of getting her to sign her latest book, and posed for a photo with her!
I admire her so much!!!
Why I love Kumi – because she is awesome!!!
So happy to have hung out with her, and always enjoy her visits to Atlanta…
I had the tremendous honor of meeting Spalding Gray twice in Atlanta, Georgia, on the occasions of his performances there. I also provided professional massage therapy services for him.
He was an amazing man, and I was greatly saddened to hear of his death.
I had the honor of serving Coretta Scott King as her massage therapist for 4 years.
I’m grateful to have known her.
She was a fantastic, intelligent and wonderful woman.
I had the wonderful experience of meeting Stevie Ray Vaughan many times – the first time was at the album release party for Texas Flood at Fitzgerald’s in Houston, Texas.
The last time was back stage at the JVC Blues Fest at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia, a few months prior to his untimely death.
This photo was taken backstage at JazzFest in New Orleans months before his death in 1990, as well.
My friend Flora and I drove cross-country (from Atlanta to Dallas) to attend his funeral.
I’m grateful to have met him, and will never forget him.
